We received this email from the Cate's who had returned Livin R Dream back to the dock |
Den and Mary...As usual we had a wonderful trip this year. We had perfect weather plus it was cool and rainy the day we packed and clean up the boat.
With that being said there were a couple of mechanical problems which Matt is going to fix or temporarily fix before you go out. Half of the 12V batteries system went down while we were up in the San Juan arm. It seems to be a charging problem or a battery problem. With Matt's help (thankfully we had some cell service), we were able to work around the problems. We used jumper cables to get it up and running temporally as we needed to get the jet skis up on the boat and gas for our ski boats. We had to bypass it to get the propane for the stoves to work. We left our jumper cables on the boat just in case they were needed again. For specific details Paul posted everything in the trip book for the problems and solutions. Always something to make the trip exciting!
As for the condition of the boat for the most part it was good. When we got on the boat the upstairs coffee table was taped together with red tape (not sure who's trip this happened on), there were some stains on the chaise lounge chairs. Everything else was just minor wear and tear. The jet skis are cosmetically in pretty bad shape, however all but #8 work perfectly. #8 still beeps, only goes half speed and misses. I am sure you have read the issues that they were having with it on prior trips.
While on the boat we cleaned and reorganized the cupboards and drawers in both kitchens. We wiped down all the small appliances. We did not use everything but you should find the boat organized and clean.

I saw all the pictures on the website, looked really fun! Next July I am definitely coming with you guys, if you will have me of course. Right now we are going to be pulling into our Base in Bahrain for some repairs, in the coming weeks. After that near mid September to early October we are going to head to Greece and then Spain I believe. After that we will be on our way back, there is talk that we will stop in Florida to drop off the helicopters. There is a rumor that the two days it takes to cruise up will be a tiger cruise, roughly November 5th to the 7th. I've learned a lot this deployment and have stories to tell.
