Compassionate Care
In marriage you model for your children the kind of compassionate care and sacrificial service you long for them to imitate. |

Love

Our
Actions

Only
love has meaning; it raises up our smallest actions into infinity.

Our
Relationship With God |
Because
we are created by God we long for God. In God is the source of my
identity, the truth of who I am and who I am called to be. If I
am to find happiness I can only find it in God. |
God
and one are a majority! What one person, following God's will and
plan for his or her life, can do is more than our mind could ever
hope for or imagine. Each of us has a mission to fulfill in God's
plan for the world. Each one of us is unique and has been given
talent to use for the service of our brothers and sisters for the
building up of God's kingdom.
GOD
what is your PLAN for me today? |

Sharing
the Bread of Life |
You
are the Bread of Life, O God.
Give us strength enough to share with others,
That we may nourish other lives
As you nourish our own.
Amen. |

Being
a "Little Christ" |
We
belong to Jesus Christ the moment we rise from the waters of Baptism
bearing his name. Christian means "little Christ." As
such, our vocation is to model our lives on the Lord's. |
Quality
of Prayers |
The
quality of our prayers is more important than the quantity, the
number of them. It is better to offer a few prayers with depth of
attention and fervor than many repeated with little care or in a
rushing way. |

Broken
Love and Holiness |
When
the heart embraces another person, we know that we must prepare
ourselves for sorrow, for at some point the circle of love will
be broken..How we handle the separation from a loved one or the
sorrow we feel in difficult times will be the gauge of what degree
of holiness we have attained. |
It
Is Not Enough |
It's
not enough to attend Mass on Sunday; it is not enough to call yourself
a Catholic. It is not enough to bring your child to be baptized..Appearances
are not enough. God is not satisfied with appearance. God wants
the garment of justice. God wants his Christians dressed in love.

Truth
Like
Jesus Christ, truth may always be denied, persecuted, embattled,
wounded, martyred, crucified; but it always lives again and rises
again and cannot be wrenched out of the human heart.

Those
Who Suffer |
Jesus
did not hesitate to proclaim the blessedness of those who suffer..This
blessedness can only be understood if one admits that human life
is not limited to the time spent on earth, but is wholly directed
to perfect joy and fullness of joy in the hereafter.

Spirit
of Love |
While
being so busy running my own life, I become oblivious to the gentle
movements of the Spirit of God within me, pointing me in directions
quite different from my own. It requires a lot of inner solitude
and silence to become aware of these divine movements. God does
not shout, scream, or push. The Spirit of God is soft and gentle
like a small voice or a light breeze. It is the spirit of love.

Confession |
Spiritual
life begins with a good and sincere confession. Why confession?
It is necessary for us to be free. If we are hiding or controlled
by sin, we cannot be free. Sin.destroys life. Confession is as important
to Jesus as it is to us. |
Real
Places of Love |
Let
us make our homes real places of love so that we can overcome any
hatreds. Love begins at home-everything depends on how we love one
another at home. Do not be afraid to love until it hurts because
this is how Jesus loved. |
Spiritual
Steps |
Spiritual
truth cannot be taught.it must be experienced. If you want a deeper
experience of God, pray for it, search for it. For every sincere
step we take toward God, God takes 10 toward us. |
Breaking
the Chain |
Our
first reaction to those who hate us, hurt us, cheat us, steal from
us and quarrel with us, is often far more human than divine. Those
habits-thoughtless, unloving, selfish acts-are broken only by prayer
and a deepening awareness of the divinity within. |

Keep
a Blank Sheet Ready |
Get
your own agenda, hurts, neediness and fears out of the way, so that
you've offered God a blank sheet to write on when it's time to write
some words on your soul.

Lifeline |
It
is a real turning point in all our lives when we are finally ready
to turn to the Lord and say, "Jesus, I don't know what to do
here-please help me." We only get to Jesus when we get to the
end of our rope. It is only when we honestly turn to the Lord that
we can truly turn our lives around and follow him. |
Suffering |
According
to an old saying, suffering can make you better or bitter.
It is, indeed, a double-edged sword. On the one hand, suffering
can bring us closer to God, but on the other hand, it can
move us further away from Him. It all depends on what we do
with the suffering that comes our way. |

From
Dark to Light |
I
hail you, O Morning Star, with thanks for your hopeful
illumination! For when sadness and depression had extinguished
all light from my soul, you appeared in your full glory,
promising that the darkness within would give way to
a joyful brightness. As you did for me, shine brilliantly
now for all those who are in despair, that they, too,
may rejoice in the hope of the coming dawn. Amen. |

Pray for Patience |
Today’s readings: Isaiah 26:1-6; Matthew 7:21, 24-27
The next time you become impatient during a wait, perhaps in traffic or the grocery store, think of people in developing countries who wait all day for a bus that never comes, and return the next day to wait again. Spend the rest of your wait praying for that kind of patience. |

Lead Me to Peace |
Lead me from death to life,
from falsehood to truth.
Lead me from despair to hope,
from fear to trust.
Lead me from hate to love,
from war to peace.
Let peace fill our hearts,
our world, our universe,
Peace, Peace, Peace. |

God’s Language |
The Magi were pagans from the mysterious and faraway “east.” Legend says they sought God through the study of the stars. So God spoke to them in the language of their own religion. He sent them a star. He does the same for us. He speaks to us through whatever signs, symbols, events, persons or experiences we are able to receive. |

Fifth Sunday of Lent
Isaiah 43:16-21 |
God is saying to you, “See, I am doing something new” (showing you a path through the desert and giving it water). In order to grow in the spiritual life, we must accept change and transition. Long ago, Cardinal John Newman said, “To grow is to change. To be perfect is to change often.” What change is God asking you to accept right now? Today, take a step forward towards making that change in your life.

Holy Communion |
Our Lord does not come down from heaven every day to lie in a golden ciborium. He comes to find another heaven which is infinitely dearer to him—the heaven of our souls. |

Traces of Jesus |
Since Jesus has gone to heaven, I can follow him only by the traces he has left. But how radiant and how fragrant these traces are! I have only to glance at the holy gospels and at once I breathe the fragrance of his life. |

Potent Weapons |
Prayer and sacrifice are my invincible weapons, and I know, by experience, that they can soften the heart much better than words. |

Space for Silence |
Modern life leaves little space for silence. But silence gives us space for receptivity; it allows us to hear the speechless language of God and to respond with our hearts. |
The Inner Path |
The cave has always been a symbol of the unconscious and a place for encounters with God. If you follow the inner path, you eventually come to the cave of your heart, where you will encounter the wilderness and darkness of isolation, shut off from thoughts, feelings and ideas, in order to be open to a visit from God. Everything must be left behind, including the ego, before entering the cave if we hope to emerge transformed. |
Seeing God |
If we have a pure heart, then we can see God. If we cannot see God then we must ask: Is there something between us and our Lord? Sometimes there is a darkness that brings us closer to God, troubles and trials through which we must persevere. But sometimes there is a darkness that is dividing our love for God. |
Forgive and Forget |
You must forgive and forget all the difficult things of yesterday for yesterday has gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. But you have today to love Jesus as he loves you, with a deep personal love. |
The Way to Peace |
The path to peace means undergoing conversion in the deepest core of one’s self and finding one’s true self in God. It is a path of relationship with God that is centered on the Word made flesh, the person of Jesus Christ. |

Divine Power |
Truly living as a Christian is not some sort of righteousness that we slip on like an overcoat, nor some ideal we arrive at by means of our own efforts. The life of Christ is a vibrant, powerful, inner force that bubbles up out of the very depths of our being and enables us to do otherwise impossible things, blessed things. This divine grace gradually helps us to overcome sin, temptations, weaknesses. We are able to rise above our human limitations and receive a glimpse of our heavenly inheritance. |
Shaping Our Souls |
Our commitments—the truths we choose to believe, the ideals we choose to embrace, the directions we choose to take, the goals we choose to pursue, the hopes we choose to live by—these are the enduring choices that shape our souls, make us the persons we are and determine the true meaning of our names. Jesus Christ invites us to create ourselves, to shape our souls, by the response we make to him. |

Lord, Make Me Real |
Lord, make me real.
Create in me the person I was born to be,
free of falsehood and self-deception.
Show me—gently, if you please—what is counterfeit within my being.
Uproot what is not of you
so that seeds of faith may be nurtured within me
and I may become really, really real. Amen. |

Evening Prayer |
Thank you, Jesus, for another day
I hope I’ve pretty much kept on your way.
But if somehow I’ve caused you sorrow,
I’ll try to do much better tomorrow. |

Do Not Be Afraid |
Today’s Reading: Isaiah 7:10-14; Luke 1:26-38
Please pray for me that I may have the courage to complete my Sacrifice as He has given me the inspiration and Grace to begin…I have very little courage—but I trust Him blindly, in spite of all feelings. —Mother Teresa
The media were shocked at the revelations of Mother Teresa’s insecurities. All Christians have insecurities, though, but we trust God. How little we see God’s plan in our lives; how fearful we are that things may not work out after all! Pray for courage in the area of your life where you most need it. |
True Christian Approach |
The true Christian approach is to believe that with God all things are possible—to pray by all means for the miracle and at the same time to pray to accept and live whatever God allows. The God we believe in is the God of the impossible. |
